Journal Entry from Sunday, February 18, 2007

If Sunday was supposed to be a day of rest, then we all blew it! The Festival was held on Sunday and everyone participated. The morning service was spent going into the surrounding barrios to speak to people and shepherd them. The evening service was a time for music, sharing of stories, and a lesson. Bluefields is a place that grabs your heart. --Unknown

As we begin planning for the trip or multiple trips to Nicaragua this year, my heart is full of joy at the prospect of going back to this incredible mission field. Never in my life have I felt the pull to do God work than I have in this place. Leaving behind so many personal issues and focusing on what Pastor Vital and the Lord would have us do was one of the greatest experiences of my life.

To be blessed to get to go yet again is so very exciting. With the birth of a new church in Kukra Hills and to be able to be a part of actually building such a thing is truly magnificent. Knowing that all the planning prior to arrival may be meaningless because we cannot see God’s plan until it is laid before us, at His time of choosing, but being willing to be open to such an awesome experience makes me itch to get on the plane.

Will I be there in February or April or both? Will the luggage arrive all at once? What projects will I be a part of? In what way will I touch the people of Kukra and Bluefields? How will they touch me? Only the Lord knows. I remain so very thankful for the opportunity. Amen.
